Are you shaving instead of waxing? Unsure if waxing is right for you? Do you know the difference between hard wax and soft wax? Then this article is just for you!
Waxing is a great alternative to shaving for removing unwanted hair. You can wax practically anywhere you already shave. Waxing is safe. You don’t have to worry about accidentally cutting yourself when waxing. It’s a great exfoliater for the skin! Waxing helps remove dead lose skin helping to smooth the area waxed.
Waxing works by removing the whole hair follicle. This leaves your skin feeling smoother longer. Waxing regularly also reduces hair growth and makes hair finer and less noticeable.
Types of Wax
When waxing our licensed esthetician will use one or both of two types of waxes; soft wax and hard wax.
Soft wax is used over large body areas as it is easy to spread and conforms to the skin. Its generally exfoliates skin better than hard wax, but unlike hard wax it cannot be used in the same area twice during a session because of how well it exfoliates skin. Exfoliating twice with soft wax can irritate the skin.
Hard wax is used to target small areas needed to be waxed. It’s great to use for stubborn hairs and can be used after a soft wax application to target hair not removed by an initial waxing.
